Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course provides an overview of both the adult and juvenile corrections systems in the United States. The topics in this course include the history of the correctional system in America, the school to prison pipeline that exists with at-risk groups, a focus on the legal issues, specific laws, and general operation of correctional institutions, and an introduction to probation and parole supervision. The relationship between corrections and other components of the criminal justice system is also examined.
