    Description: An introduction to the economic, political, and social problems faced by countries in the developing world. Topics include the causes of underdevelopment such as imperialism and colonization as well as the various forms of development interventions. Contemporary case studies of countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America will be used to evaluate theoretical perspectives, policies, and strategies in development. 54.00 hours lecture. (Letter grade only)
