    Description: Theory and practice in the basic techniques of producing black and white and color photographs with technical and artistic merit. Acquire competency in the use of cameras with an emphasis on understanding the relationship of shutter, aperture, and focal length. Acquire competency in the use of photo materials and processes associated with digital practices and basic darkroom procedures within contemporary photography. Students will learn how to process film, enlarge (print) negatives, scan negatives, create and manage a Lightroom catalog, and receive an introduction to digitally editing photographs. Students are expected to supply their own film and enlarging paper for printing their photographs. (Materials fee: $15.00) 36.00 hours lecture and 54.00 hours laboratory. (Letter grade only)
