Introduces beginning concepts of getting started as a vocational nursing student, understanding the profession of vocational nursing, preparing for successful practice, and moving forward into the profession of a licensed vocational nurse. This course provides the student with an introduction to the responses of the body to diseases that affect basic human needs and are discussed in terms of illness, respiratory and circulatory disturbances, fluid and electrolytes, congenital, degenerative, allergic, and immune processes. Essential of nutrition throughout the life cycle and an introduction to therapeutic diet therapy are examined. 90.00 hours lecture. (Letter grade only)
