Lectures and discussions emphasize analysis of professional examples of creative writing drawn from multiple historical and cultural traditions, as well as the study of creative writing theory. In-class and out-of-class writing assignments provide practice in creative writing techniques. In-class and out-of-class writing assignments provide practice in writing techniques as well as peer- and self-analysis.
