The course will cover pre-Columbian Mesoamerica; the Spanish conquest and the colonial period; and the national period, with special emphasis on Mexico’s relations with the United States and its place and role in the world community. It is designed for students interested in understanding Mexico as a nation, and also is recommended for all history and most social science majors.
