Special emphasis is placed on the origins of the earth’s principal centers of civilization, their subsequent interaction, and the emergence of a world economic, political, and intellectual order. The course is designed for students who want to increase their understanding and appreciation of cultural, political, and intellectual diversity, as well as the process of intercultural interaction.
