Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis introductory course is designed to familiarize the students with a variety of mobile hydraulic systems and their operational characteristics. Topics covered include hydraulics safety, hydraulic power principles, system designs, basic components, oil contamination and filtration, hydraulic symbols, schematics, diagrams, and testing instruments. In addition, an overview of electro-hydraulic systems including electric and electronic components, controllers, controller programming, and data communication, will also be covered. Hydraulic trainer simulators will be used to illustrate power principles and operation. Using hydraulic schematics the students will build a wide variety of hydraulic systems commonly installed in modern heavy equipment.
