Topics covered include rules and regulations, worksite material storage and handling, fire protection and prevention, hand and power tools, welding and cutting, electrical safety, and fall protection. Machine specific terminology, pre-operational inspection, principles of balance and stability, capacity and load handling, refueling, hydraulic power, job site and pedestrian safety will also be covered. Students will learn how to safely verify the machine performance and how to perform minor adjustments of various subsystems if needed. Upon successful completion of this course and forklift operation examination the student will receive a Certificate of Completion and wallet card for Forklift Operator Safety Training as required by OSHA 1910.178(l) and CAL/OSHA Title 8 (Section 3669), which is good for three years, and a 10-hour OSHA Training Certificate of Completion, which is good for life.
