Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionThis course teaches students how to operate on a fire department response to hazardous materials incidents. A basic review of hazard classifications, response concerns when hazardous materials are present, and responder safety is presented. This course also presents response issues related to terrorist acts involving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (C.B.R.N.E.) weapons. This class meets the requirements of National Fire Protection Association (N.F.P.A.) 470, Hazardous Materials Standards for First Responders, and the curriculum of the California Specialized Training Institute (C.S.T.I.).
