The course provides both basic and advanced assembly and installation techniques for solid surface, natural stone, and manufactured materials. Topics include various products, designs, materials, accessories, maintenance, repairs and safety considerations. Discussions about typical applications for different surface types aid in the identification of suitable materials. Students use the procedures covered in the course to fabricate countertops with backsplashes and create a design inlay.
