From Neoclassicism and Romanticism through Postmodernism and contemporary art, visual art movements are discussed in relation to stylistic trends, philosophical influences, innovations in technology, and other historical and social contexts. The roles played by the artist, critic, and consumer in shaping these movements are examined, as well as visual art’s impact upon society in the Modern era. This course is appropriate for all students pursuing the degree in Art History and/or seeking to fulfill general education requirements in Arts.Usually HeldFri 8:00am–11:10am, Wed 7:00pm–10:10pm
