    Description
    Introduction to the basic operating principles of electrical and electronic devices used in modern vehicles. Hands-on digital multimeter testing is highlighted. Safe and correct use of tools and equipment by students will be emphasized. The course will also include Ohm's law, circuit testing, electromagnetism, batteries, starters, and alternators. Students must furnish their own approved safety glasses. This course assists students in preparation for the A6 (Electrical/Electronics) ASE certification exam. Field trips may be required. May award ten (10) high school elective credits if student completes all the required assignments with a minimum passing grade of 70%. Upon completion of VAUTO 678, students may earn credit for AUTO 116 through the credit by exam process.
