    Completion with a grade of "C" or better or a Passing grade in: FAC 060A OSFM certified Fire Fighter 1 or certified Fire Fighter 2 tenured path (Appointment to the rank of Officer (Lieutenant or higher) waives this prerequisite. Appointment to the CAL FIRE rank of Fire Apparatus Engineer is equivalent to Officer level. Performing in an “acting” capacity does not fulfill this requirement.)     Description
    This course provides information on pumping apparatus preventive maintenance and operations. Topics include routine tests, inspections, and servicing functions; producing hand, master, and foam fire streams, relay pump operations; and supplying water to fire sprinkler and standpipe systems. This course is designed for career and volunteer fire service personnel who drive and operate a fire department pumping apparatus. This course is based on the 201 edition of NFPA 1002 Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications. This course satisfies partial requirements for OSFM certification for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator - Pumping Apparatus. Materials fee may be required. Not offered every semester.
