    This course provides an overview of the Earth's climate system, exploring the scientific principles that govern climate and the various factors that influence it. Topics include the atmospheric composition, energy balance, natural and human-induced climate variability, and the role of oceans, ice, and land surfaces in the climate system. Students will examine the evidence for climate change, its impacts on ecosystems and human societies, and the strategies for mitigation and adaptation. The course emphasizes the application of climate science to current environmental issues and policy decisions.
