    Completion with a grade of "C" or better or a Passing grade in: CJA 042A or equivalent POST-approved Crisis Intervention training as determined by the discipline faculty of Criminal Justice Academies and CJA 042B and CJA 042C and CJA 099A or POST certified basic law enforcement academy or equivalent as determined by the discipline faculty of Criminal Justice Academies and consistent with POST and/or STC accreditation standards.     Description
    This course provides advanced, scenario-based training in crisis intervention for experienced peace officers and deputy sheriffs. The course emphasizes practical application of de-escalation strategies, mental health crisis response, legal and ethical considerations, and interagency coordination in the field. Students will analyze complex real-world incidents and demonstrate decision-making under stress through interactive exercises. This course is designed to enhance officer safety, promote community trust, and strengthen multi-disciplinary collaboration. This is a pass/no pass course.
