Utilizing adult-learning methodologies—including lecture, facilitation, audio/visual aids, and practical exercises—students will learn how to conduct interviews that produce reliable, accurate information. The course contrasts evidence-based practices with outdated methods historically linked to unreliable statements and false confessions. Emphasis is placed on compliance with AB 2644, including the prohibition of pseudo-scientific techniques and psychological coercion, regardless of the interviewee’s age. This course is designed for criminal justice professionals seeking to improve investigative outcomes through lawful and ethical interview practices.
