    Prerequisite: None. Total lecture 54 hours. Traditional and basic fundamentals of modern logic are considered with an emphasis on their relationships to language, thought, and argument. The following material is covered: What is logic? Use of language and definition and problems with informal fallacies; deductive logic and the deductive method, including propositional or class calculus or propositional functions and quantifiers; inductive logic involving probable inference, casual connections, hypothesis, and probability.
