    Prerequisite: Eligible for Level 4. This course covers basic reading and writing techniques to prepare students for level 2 reading and writing tasks. Reading instruction is designed to improve students' comprehension and vocabulary. Writing instruction includes grammar, punctuation, paragraph structure, and the writing process. Compositions are assigned in response to readings, emphasizing the relationship between reading and writing. Credits do not count towards the associate degree.
