Transfers ToCSUDescriptionTheory, history, rehearsal and performance of traditional and contemporary literature for standard 17-piece big band. Development of reading, stylistic and ensemble skills. Instrumentation includes five saxophones, four trumpets, four trombones, piano, guitar, bass, drums. Required instructional trips. Maximum credit 8 units, 2 units each semester. Maximum of 4 enrollments in the Jazz Ensemble Family: MUSC 056 , 057B , 057D , 057E , 057F , 133D . Total of 18 hours lecture, and 36 hours laboratory, and 18 hours TBA laboratory.
