    Description
    This course provides students with the foundational skills required to operate CNC turning machines, with an emphasis on programming, setup, and machining operations. Students will learn to interpret engineering drawings, select appropriate cutting tools, and securely fixture workpieces. The course covers essential CNC programming techniques using G-code, including basic operations such as facing, turning, drilling, and threading. Students will gain hands-on experience in programming and simulating CNC turning operations, adjusting machine parameters, and troubleshooting common issues. Emphasis is placed on quality control, part inspection, and maintaining dimensional accuracy. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to set up and operate CNC turning machines, program basic to intermediate machining operations, and ensure high-quality part production. Total of 36 hours lecture and 54 hours laboratory.
