- Study of Africa's diverse peoples and histories, including its people in the diaspora, to better appreciate global history. Topics include the early civilizations of the Nile Valley, Maasai, Angola, Swahili, and Zulu; Africa's partition to post-colonial nationalism; and the continent's modern problems and promises. Total of 54 hours lecture.
