    Description
    This course provides an introduction to conventional wastewater treatment plant operations. Topics covered include: the various origins and characteristics of wastewater; an overview of wastewater collections systems; preliminary treatment; primary treatment; Secondary Treatment including activated sludge and fixed film; treatment ponds; disinfection; and laboratory procedures. Emphasis is given to the role of the operator through evaluation and analysis of problems typical of those found in Operator Certification examinations.
