    This course provides instruction in the strategies and skills needed for critical reading, logical thinking, and analysis of writing. Emphasis is placed on the ability to analyze, criticize, and advocate for ideas; to reason inductively and deductively; and to identify the assumptions in written material by identifying claims and support, identifying patterns of logic and reason, and identifying truth versus falsehoods or logical errors. Enables students to approach all academic disciplines with critical reading and analytical thinking skills.
