Description: Essentials for Calculus 1 Enhanced is an innovative course intended to make your transition to Calculus successful. This course will cover the key topics in Algebra and Trigonometry that are crucial for success in STEM Calculus 1 (Math 140 or Math 140E, calculus with analytic geometry or calculus with analytic geometry enhanced). Students will study functions from graphic, numeric, analytic and applied perspectives, including polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. This course integrates a review of prerequisite core concepts, college success strategies, and mathematical concepts. It utilizes active learning through individual and group projects/activities to engage students in multiple learning styles.
