Students will have the opportunity to discover their own cultures through researching the dances of their ancestors. Students will delve into the stereotypes developed about other cultures through film, and how world cultures have changed to fit on Western stages. Students will also explore dances from a variety of cultures with an emphasis on Cuba and Brazil and dances of the African and Latin Diaspora.
