The course examines the political, economic, historical, social, and cultural aspects influencing these groups' advances, contributions, and adaptations to U.S. society. A theoretical examination of critical events in histories, cultural advances, and intellectual traditions of Mexican Americans are central elements of the course, with emphasis on agency and group-affirmation particularly relevant.
