Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is a historical survey of the United States from the end of the Civil War to the present. The course also introduces students to historical reasoning skills. Students will explore the cultural, social, economic, political, diplomatic, and military history of the United States, investigating topics such as westward expansion, imperialism, the Industrial Revolution, urbanization, immigration, the Women’s Rights movement, the Progressive Movement, the Great War, the “Roaring Twenties,” the Great Depression, World War II, the Cold War, the Civil Rights Movement, “The Sixties,” the conservative counter-movement, technological innovations, terrorism, and globalization. Credit will not be awarded for both the honors and regular versions of a course. Credit will be awarded only for the first course completed with a grade of "C" or better.
