    This course in co-occurring disorders is designed to give students advanced knowledge and skills in managing and treating clients with both substance use disorders and mental illness. It focuses on current treatment approaches, understanding medications, and how addiction counselors may interface with the professional mental health community to manage cases. This course fulfills one 3-unit skills elective of the California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators (CAADE).
