There is a comparative approach to the study of specific themes including political, social, and economic change, as well as religious and cultural development. The course will emphasize global trends and developments that have shaped human history, such as the Age of Exploration, imperialism, the Atlantic and Industrial revolutions, the world wars, anti-colonial struggles, and the impact of globalization. The course examines the implications of race, gender, class, ethnicity, and religion in human societies over time.
