There is a comparative approach to the study of specific themes including political, social, and economic change. There will also be a focus on the role of race, gender, and ethnicity in the shaping of world history. Emphasis is given to the rise of civilizations, the emergence of global economies, innovations in science and technology in addition to cultural, intellectual and religious traditions.
