Assists the dancer-choreographer (non-musician) in building a knowledge of the fundamentals of music through the limited study of theory, terminology and notation. The course is designed to present the development of music and dance in historical perspective, to develop through listening an awareness of the musical literature available, to train dancer and musician to work together through development of a common vocabulary and a working knowledge of each other's craft.
