The course examines patterns of economic, status, and political inequalities on the basis of multiple and intersecting factors such as social class, gender, sexual orientation, and race/ethnicity. The course analyzes classical and contemporary explanations of inequalities and the consequences of inequalities on individuals and groups. The course also explores social mobility and changes in the systems of inequalities. Field trips to equity events on campus, in the student's local community, or online may be required.
