Medical clearance by a licensed physician and a valid driver's license. PELLETB Written Exam with a score of 48 or greater. Physical Agility Exam provided by the Academy with a score of 320 or greater. This course meets the minimum requirements of entry-level Rangers within state, county, and local park systems. This course includes fundamental principles, procedures, and techniques of Rangers, including laws of arrest, search and seizure, patrol, vehicle pull-overs, cultural diversity, investigations, report writing, defensive tactics, firearms, leadership, ethics, community policing, search and rescue, off-road emergency vehicle operations, and first aid/CPR. This course is open to students who meet and satisfy entry requirements including written examination, physical fitness examination, DOJ fingerprint clearance, and medical clearance. This course requires significant time commitment and outside coursework including uniform preparation, homework assignments, and equipment maintenance. Not applicable to associate degree.
