    FT-225A18; State Fire Marshall certified basic firefighting academy diploma or equivalent as determined by the Dean of Academy Instruction. NOTE: Approval of equivalent training is not a guarantee state regulatory or licensing agencies will also grant equivalency. Familiarity with and ability to demonstrate the following skills. These skills will not be taught in the course; rather they will be the starting point for advanced officer training that builds upon them. These minimum knowledge and skill levels include familiarity with Fire Services Resources and Agency safety policies; knowledge of State Fire Professional certification tracks. This course provides the skills and knowledge needed for the entry-level professional instructor to safely, effectively, and competently teach and deliver instruction from a prepared lesson plan utilizing instructional aids and evaluation instruments; adapt a lesson plan; and complete the reporting requirements to the local jurisdiction.
