    Offered: Spring Semester, Even Years This course is an examination of the historical, socio-economic, and political conditions which have shaped the lives of contemporary Chicanas and Latinas in the United States. The course explores cultural patterns underlying race, class, and gender-based inequities and responses presented by Latinas. Students examine Chicana and Latina involvement in social movements, self-determination, and identity affirmation through contemporary texts, historical documents, and oral histories.
