    Description: Introduction to the factors affecting intercultural communication focusing on culture, language, and social patterns and their influence on how members of groups relate among themselves and with members of different ethnic and cultural groups. Theory and knowledge of effective communication within and between cultures and appreciation and comparison of communication among diverse groups within the larger context of American culture are explored with an emphasis on self-evaluation and skill development. 54.00 hours lecture. (Letter grade or Pass/No Pass option)
