    This course provides a comprehensive survey of physical education programs for elementary school children. It emphasizes the role and necessity of structured physical education, examines California Content Standards for instruction, and develops skills in applying these concepts in elementary school settings. Topics include motor skills and movement concepts, fitness, wellness, exercise physiology, disease prevention, nutrition, substance use awareness, and the social, historical, and cultural significance of physical education.
