    This course examines the theory, strategies and physical techniques used to officiate various sports. Topics describe the career as both an art and a science with common trends and challenges facing officials today (mentally, emotionally and physically). Major topics in the course include: career preparation, officiating styles, communication skills, critical thinking, mental training, conflict management, safety considerations, game management, physical fitness, nutrition, legal rights and responsibilities, ethics, and rules required for a variety of sports.
