The focus of this course is on integration and application of the nursing process as it applies to the nursing care of children and their families. Emphasis is placed on concepts related to age-specific family centered care. Common disease processes and those specific to pediatrics are discussed. Clinical experiences highlight the refinement of critical thinking, decision making, psychomotor skills and management of care using evidence-based practice in the role of the advanced-beginner level registered nurse.
