    This course introduces concepts/practices relating the non-critical young adult through geriatric adult in the medical/surgical environment. Utilizing the nursing process, the student will begin to recognize alterations in functioning or illness and formulate age-appropriate nursing interventions. Selected psychomotor skills associated with the basic needs and medication administration will be studied/practiced. This course introduces the first-year nursing student to concepts and practices relating to the adult and geriatric patient in the Medical/Surgical environment.
