    Description
    This course introduces students to the sound, history, and cultural contexts of jazz and blues music. Beginning music listening and appreciation skills and vocabulary are taught alongside a history of the genres, from their ancestor musics in Africa and the 19th century American South to modern 21st century jazz and blues artists.
