    This course examines the histories, cultures, identities, and contemporary topics in Native American communities in the United States. Topics include colonialism, tribal sovereignty, historiography, popular representation, economic development, environmental justice, urbanization, ethnic identity, racialization, language, spirituality, and cultural diversity. This course discusses the processes of colonization, racialization, land dispossession, and Native American resistance through key events in law and politics, community organizations, and sovereignty, which are integral to understanding Native American communities.
