    This course offers training in English language skills needed for success in American colleges. Informed by the language acquisition process, the course includes further instruction in reading and writing. Sentence structure and grammar concepts to enhance communication are reviewed as needed. Conventions of conversation and class discussion are practiced. The course includes paragraph development, critical reading, and critical thinking skills.
