    Description
    This course builds upon beginning ballet technique and further develops student performance of beginning ballet movement principles and vocabulary, expanding knowledge of beginning ballet barre and center exercises and the ballet aesthetic. Alignment, strength, flexibility, balance and stamina are improved. The historical and cultural context of ballet, including European, American, and other influences, are examined with focus on the exclusionary practices historically embedded within ballet on the basis of race, culture, gender and body type.
