    Description
    This course is for the study, rehearsal, and public performance of literature appropriate for an intermediate vocal jazz ensemble. This group will perform vocal jazz charts accompanied by a rhythm section, as well as a cappella pieces. Topics of study will include basics of singing jazz, vocal improvisation, group singing techniques, and microphone techniques. The ensemble will perform locally and/or at vocal jazz festivals. Attendance at performances and competitions is required. Different literature will be studied each semester. This course is repeatable for credit the maximum times allowable by regulation.
