    Description
    Surveys United States history through the lens of Asians and Pacific Islanders, beginning with European colonialism in the 17th century to the present. This course highlights transnational and intergroup relations, paying close attention to Asian American and Pacific Islander American cultural development and influences on the social, political, cultural, and economic meanings of freedom in the United States. Satisfies the requirement for a course in United States History, including the study of American institutions and ideas, and the Constitution of the United States as required by Title 5 of the California Administrative Code.
