Description: Women's experience placed within the context of major themes of United States history, addressing issues and debates related to gender construction and identity from Colonial times to the present. Political, economic, and social currents within the context of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and class are examined and analyzed. This course satisfies the requirement for a course in American history including the study of American institutions and ideals, as required by Title 5 of the California Administrative Code.
