    Description: Introduction to the principles of counseling families and at-risk children, youth, and families in the child welfare system.Develop an understanding of mental health needs represented in the service population. Emphasis on developing knowledge, skills and abilities related to implementing counseling services and techniques in child welfare including foster care, county placements, and adoption services. Explore therapeutic interventions and resources for children, youth, resource parents, social workers, and staff across the system. 54.00 hours lecture. (Letter grade only)
