Topics include earthquakes, volcanoes, wildfires, drought, heatwaves, tsunamis, hurricanes and cyclones, flooding, and space weather. These phenomena are studied in the context of the physical earth-system processes that generate them, strategies and systems for managing risk, and their impacts on society. This course is intended to meet upper division General Education requirements for students enrolled in baccalaureate degree programs. 54.00 hours lecture. (Letter grade only)
